Tristan Jones, MD
University of Chicago - Pritzker SOM
My name is Tristan Jones and I'm a second-year Med-Peds resident. I'm originally from the DC suburbs in northern Virginia and stayed in-state for college at UVA before heading out to Chicago for four years for medical school. For residency, I knew I wanted to come back closer to home and loved the welcoming atmosphere at VCU. The residents really get along well and are friends outside of work. Plus the attendings and leadership are all very supportive and engaged in education. I also love being back in central Virginia with all its access to parks, mountains, hikes, mountain bike trails, and more. Richmond is ideal for me in that it is a smaller city with the benefits of lots of outdoors nearby but enough going on to keep me occupied. I live in Carytown which affords me a short commute by bicycle, a spacious backyard with a garden, lots of nearby restaurants, and plenty of nearby outdoor space for me and my dog.
