Raymond (Ray) Schlitt, MD

Cooper Medical School of Rowan University

My name is Ray Schlitt and I am a second-year resident here at VCU. I graduated from Cooper Medical School of Rowan University in 2019, which was right down the road from where I grew up in South Jersey. Before that, I went to James Madison University for a year and then graduated from Bucknell University where I was on the wrestling team.

I got married a few months before moving to Richmond and my wife and I have transitioned easily into our new life here and have had a lot of fun exploring the area. We especially love walking our new dog Cooper along the James River.

I’m interested in pursuing a career in primary care general pediatrics and have been thrilled with the training I’ve received here at VCU. I especially appreciate the balance of autonomy and support provided to us in our program. My experience has been so positive because of the relationships we’ve formed between residents and the education provided by the faculty.
