Welcome to VCU! We’re so excited that you’re looking at our program. I’m originally from North Carolina and lived the last 3 years in Raleigh. I went to undergrad at Hampden-Sydney College where I played baseball and medical school at Campbell University. I have absolutely loved living in Richmond. The city has so much to do whether you like to have a night out on the town or explore the many green spaces RVA has to offer. The location is perfect for a quick weekend trip to the mountain or the coast! In my free time, I love to cook for my wife and all our friends, as well as explore all Richmond has to offer with our two pups. The James River has quickly become our and our dog’s favorite. I couldn’t ask for a better place to train. The attendings and fellows are caring, considerate teachers. My co-residents are better than I could have ever asked for and we are truly a family. The recently completed outpatient pavilion is an amazing facility with a brand-new freestanding children’s hospital on the way!
