Hi all! Welcome to VCU! My name is Andrea Hart and I am one of the Med-Peds interns. I am originally from Winfield, WV. I completed my undergraduate education and medical school at Marshall University in Huntington, WV. While on the interview trail, I fell in love with VCU and Richmond. I have truly enjoyed my time here at VCU thus far. The faculty and staff are very supportive and my co-interns and residents are fantastic to work with! The 2-week tandem schedule here at VCU really helps with your overall work-life balance. VCU gives you tremendous opportunity to take care of medically complex patients and gain autonomy with an appropriate level of supervision, all in a very supportive learning environment. Also, Richmond is such a fun place to live! There are many amazing places to eat, plenty of outdoor activities and you have close access within a couple of hours to places like VA beach/DC for fun weekend getaways.
