Pediatric clerkship for third-year medical students

Welcome to pediatric clerkship! The six-week clerkship consists of various clinical experiences including inpatient team rotation at CHoR and Chippenham Hospital., outpatient rotation with CHoR and community pediatricians, newborn nursery and inpatient electives. We also offer weekly didactic sessions including time in the simulation lab.

Welcome from the M3 clerkship directors

We look forward to spending the next six weeks getting to know you and your interests. We hope to provide you with a solid foundation in clinical reasoning, pathophysiology of common pediatric diseases, and the importance of preventative visits. You will also learn the importance of family-centered care, including family-centered rounds. Finally, we hope that you will learn important lessons in professionalism and teamwork as you continue your progress toward residency.

The six-week clerkship will be challenging but rewarding as you step onto the acute care pediatrics units at CHoR and Chippenham Hospital. You will be part of a multidisciplinary team providing comprehensive, family-centered care. To supplement these valuable clinical experiences, the clerkship offers structured weekly conferences and exceptional bedside teaching by our residents, fellows and attending faculty.
