Audiology
Children with varying degrees of hearing loss - from mild to severe - are living healthy, normal lives with the care and support of our highly trained audiologists. We evaluate the hearing and listening skills of infants, children and adolescents and we're an approved provider for the Virginia Department of Health Newborn Hearing Screening Program.
Diagnostic services
We provide hearing evaluations in a family-centered environment that inspires confidence and trust. Testing includes:
- Auditory brain stem response
- Bone anchored hearing aid evaluations for surgical and soft band fittings
- Hearing aid evaluations, specializing in fitting infants and toddlers
- Newborn hearing screening follow-up
- Pediatric hearing evaluations
- Unilateral hearing loss monitoring and management
- Walk-in services
An individual treatment plan for your child
Your family will receive a treatment plan, made just for you, that will provide guidance and recommendations on the appropriate care for your child's hearing loss. The plan will include:
- Classroom strategies
- Community resource information, including Early Intervention/Infant Services
- Counseling
- Digital hearing aids with Bluetooth technology
- FM trainers for home and school use
- Hearing aids
Walk-in audiology services
Are you an established patient having trouble with your hearing aids? Need a quick fix or cleaning? Our walk-in clinic is here for you. No appointment needed for established patients. First come, first served.
Walk-in audiology services:
- Hearing aid cleaning
- Battery or charger issues
- Dome, wax filter, or tubing changes
- Minor repairs and troubleshooting
- Phone connectivity troubleshooting
- Pediatric bone anchored hearing aids (for example, BAHA, Ponto, Osia and Siento devices)
Walk-in location: Children's Pavilion, Level 4; 8 – 11 a.m. and 1 – 3 p.m.
