Adolescent medicine

Specialized care for adolescents

Adolescence is an exciting time of rapid and complex physical, intellectual, emotional and social development. It is a critical phase in life as young people mature from childhood, when they are dependent on parents and other adults, to young adulthood when they are expected to make decisions and be responsible for themselves. Our board-certified adolescent medicine doctors offer comprehensive and compassionate care for adolescents ages 12 to 22.

Our approach: Focused on teens

Many children at this age have questions about their changing bodies, moods and interactions with others. Some may engage in behaviors that present risks to their health and safety. We can work with families to address those concerns and answer questions. Parents may also have concerns about what to expect of their adolescent children, what is normal and how they can be kept safe and healthy. We’re here to help along the way.
