Pediatric endocrinology, diabetes and metabolism

Endocrine disorders occur when your child’s hormone system isn’t functioning as expected. We’re here every step of the way to support you and your child. Our Center for Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism is the region's most comprehensive program for children with diabetes and other endocrine disorders.

Our multidisciplinary team of endocrinology experts cares for your entire child – not just their illness. Treatment plans are tailored to each individual child and often include medical care, clinical research trials, medical nutrition therapy, education, psychological support and even support groups – all in one location.

Why choose CHoR's endocrinology team

  • We specialize in type 1 and type 2 diabetes and are an American Diabetes Association designated diabetes education program
  • We diagnose and manage all endocrine disorders – from the simple to the complex.
  • Our Healthy Lifestyle Center offers comprehensive weight management services – from nutrition  and exercise programs to psychological support and adolescent weight loss surgery.
  • We offer a unique, family-based lifestyle intervention program for teens ages 12 to 16 years. The TEENS program is free and funded by the National Institutes of Health.
  • We're proud members of the Child and Adolescent Thyroid Consortium, joining pediatric thyroid centers across the US to improve the care for children and adolescents with thyroid disease, including thyroid hormone resistance syndromes, autoimmune thyroid disease, thyroid nodules and thyroid cancer.
