Dr. Paul Koch is a board-certified, fellowship-trained neurosurgeon who specializes in surgery for movement disorders, including focused ultrasound and deep brain stimulation (DBS) for essential tremor and Parkinson’s disease, as well as surgery for refractory epilepsy. He joined VCU Health in 2018 after completing residency training with Dr. Gordon Baltuch at the University of Pennsylvania and fellowship training with Dr. Robert Gross at Emory University, both world leaders in surgery for movement disorders.

With a wealth of experience and expertise, Dr. Koch is at the forefront of medical innovation and led the first focused ultrasound procedure at VCU Medical Center.
