Bio
Dr. Bouchard practices pediatric general and thoracic surgery, with a particular emphasis on minimally invasive surgery. She treats newborns, infants and children with a wide range of conditions, including congenital and acquired diseases. In addition to her clinical work, she is committed to the advancement of access to high-quality, equitable surgical care through research, education, community collaboration, advocacy and policy work. She is an active member of the American College of Surgeons, the American Academy of Pediatrics Section on Surgery and the American Pediatric Surgical Association. She was also peer-selected and inducted into the Delta Omega Public Health Honorary Society and the Gold Humanism Honor Society.
Dr. Bouchard has received many awards for her leadership, advocacy and public health work, including the United States Public Health Service Excellence in Public Health Award and serving on the APSA/AAP Advocacy and Policy Committee. During her post-doctoral research fellowship, she obtained her Masters in Public Health and worked with the G4 Alliance to secure U.S. Congressional Appropriations USAID funding to expand the delivery of surgical care globally. Additionally, she is committed to student and resident education, serving as the Education Chief Resident at Georgetown and receiving multiple teaching awards. Outside of the hospital, Dr. Bouchard enjoys spending time with her husband and their two daughters, exploring new restaurants and cooking, satisfying her inner history buff at local museums and dancing.
