Bio

Dr. Walter is a licensed clinical psychologist in Virginia and New Mexico. While completing her doctoral degree, she engaged in extensive training and research, with foci on immune-mediated disorders (e.g., asthma, Inflammatory Bowel Diseases), congenital heart disease, and trauma. She moved to Albuquerque in 2017 to complete her pre-doctoral internship in pediatric clinical neuropsychology at the University of New Mexico. Dr. Walter completed a 2-year postdoctoral fellowship with Neuropsychological Services of New Mexico in August 2020 and then joined the clinical staff. Dr. Walter has a focus on pediatric assessment and has pursued additional training in autism assessment and trauma-informed care. She has published articles in  neuropsychology and health psychology-related journals and presented at local and national conferences. Professionally, she engages in program development, including participation on a state committee to rewrite professional development expectations in New Mexico. Dr. Walter has enjoyed volunteering in the community with a pediatric science organization, animal welfare groups, and a car club. She and her husband enjoy trying new restaurants and attempting to cook new recipes.
