Fariba Rezaee, MD

Dr. Rezaee joined CHoR in 2026 as chief of the Division of Pulmonary and Sleep Medicine. 

An accomplished physician-scientist, Dr. Rezaee's research focuses on the effects of respiratory viruses, environmental pollutants and electronic cigarettes on airway epithelial barrier function. She is principal investigator of an NIH/NHLBI R01 grant and previously received an NIH K08 award supporting her investigations into respiratory syncytial virus (RSV)-related airway injury. She has authored 49 peer-reviewed publications and has served on NIH study sections and grant review committees.

She serves on the American Thoracic Society Pediatric Assembly Program Committee and on editorial boards for several scientific journals. She has mentored medical students, residents, fellows and research trainees throughout her career and was recently named a Fellow of the American Thoracic Society. Her many recognitions include Cleveland Magazine Top Doctor, Castle Connolly Top Doctor and the Cleveland Clinic's Tracy L. Hull, M.D., Mid-Career Professional Development Award.
