Bio
Dr. Peak is med-peds trained in infectious diseases with a primary appointment in the Department of Pediatrics and an affiliate appointment in the Department of Internal Medicine. She joined the faculty in 2025 after completion of her residency ('21) and fellowship ('25), both at VCU. Dr. Peak served as Chief Resident and Chief Fellow for each of her training programs.
Dr. Peak's clinical interests include caring for people living with HIV across the lifespan, as well as advocating for safe breastfeeding for those living with HIV. She provides general inpatient and outpatient consultation for pediatric and adult infectious diseases including bacterial, fungal, viral, and parasitic infections. She is a member of the Infectious Diseases Society of American (IDSA) and the Pediatric Infectious Diseases Society (PIDS). She also serves as the Associate Program Director for the Pediatric Infectious Diseases Fellowship and is active in graduate medical education endeavors including interviewing residency and fellowship candidates.
In her spare time, Dr. Peak enjoys exploring the many restaurants and activities that Richmond has to offer. She enjoys seeing live music and traveling, as well as spending time with her husband and young son.
