Bio

Dr. Prajapati joined VCU in 2018 serving in a dual role of providing psychiatric consultations at CHoR and also playing a critical role in expanding the pediatric consultation-liaison service. He has an outpatient clinic at Virginia Treatment Center for Children and is actively involved in training the next generation of adult and pediatric psychiatrists. He has been elected as the Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association (APA) which is an elite group of psychiatrists with this honorary distinction to those who continue to make significant contributions to the field of psychiatry. His service to the patients and the trainees has been recognized with numerous awards and honors. He has been awarded Richmond’s Top Doc Award in 2020, 2021, 2022, 2024, and 2025 by  Richmond magazine. He is passionate about connecting with his patients, educating patients and families, and crisis prevention while conducting comprehensive psychiatric evaluations.
