Dr. Dec is a board certified sports medicine physician with over 26 years experience covering sidelines and mass events for the youth sports, high schools, colleges and national level. She is head team physician for Longwood University and a volunteer physician with the United States Olympic Paralympic programs. She is past president of the American Medical Society for Sports Medicine(AMSSM), past committee member of the National Federation of State High School Associations(NFHS), and continues as a member of the Frank C. McCue Sports Medicine Advisory Committee for Virginia High School League. She continues to engage in concussion and sports-related position and policy with her service to the American Academy Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, American College of Sports Medicine, and AMSSM.
Dr. Dec has earned awards in teaching, excellence in sports medicine and patient care including Ken Davis Teaching Excellence Award, Top Docs in Sports Medicine, Top Doc for Women in sports medicine, Outstanding Educator, and the Frank C. McCue III, MD Sports Medicine Award from the Virginia High School Coaches Association.
She enjoys seeing youth ages eight and up for prevention, diagnosis and treatment in sports-related issues.
