Insurance and billing

Insurance and billing

When it comes time to pay, we accept most commercial insurance, and all Medicaid and Family Access to Medical Insurance Security plans. Every person has a different insurance situation, so we encourage you to speak to your insurance provider for particular costs and coverages.

New billing system effective December 4, 2021

VCU Health is moving to a new billing system effective December 4, 2021. You may continue to receive statements from PatientCo or you may receive the new billing statement from Epic MyChart. Statements are dependent upon your date of service.

Financial assistance

We treat all children regardless of ability to pay. If you do not have health insurance or worry that you may not be able to pay in full for your care, we may be able to help. It is important that you let us know if you will have trouble paying your bill.

Billing for VCU Medical Center and MCV Physicians

You may receive separate bills for the hospital (including VTCC), physician, radiology, lab services and others. You can pay your physician bill online.

For billing questions, contact:
804-523-7001
844-370-5323 (toll free)

As part of VCU Health, it is our mission to provide quality care to all who need it and to provide financial assistance counseling as necessary.

The Brook Road Campus provides quality care to all who need it along with financial assistance on an as needed basis. Review the financial assistance policy.
