Nurture every step

Kids should feel like kids.

Addressing the physical health alongside the emotional, social and developmental needs of kids is at the core of what we do at Children’s Hospital of Richmond at VCU. As our clinical footprint expands, so must our development of clinical and wraparound services. As a full-service children’s hospital, we are committed to providing holistic care to the children in our region and their families.

CHoR has a full complement of 53 pediatric specialties, and resources are needed to continue the development of key services including neuromuscular, behavioral and mental health, cancer, heart, neonatology and complex care. Support for these services will enhance the level of care we provide to our community’s most vulnerable children.

In order to truly improve the health of children, we know that services must extend beyond clinical care. That’s why CHoR’s teams include child life, spiritual care and art and music therapists to help address social and emotional needs and improve the hospital experience. We are also continuing to build our Family Resource Center with a team dedicated to addressing social drivers of health such as housing, transportation and food insecurity.
