These parking changes may impact families coming downtown for services that are not located in the Children’s Pavilion or Tower.

Beginning Monday, May 4, 2026, patients and visitors coming to the VCU Medical Center campus in downtown Richmond may need to park in a new location.

Note: This change will NOT impact the Children’s Parking Deck attached to the Children’s Pavilion and Children’s Tower, which is available for all pediatric patients, along with their families and visitors.

If you’re coming to the downtown campus for services that are not located in the Children’s Pavilion or Tower, including our Critical Care Hospital NICU, these changes could impact you.

Details on the parking changes going into effect May 4

The medical center’s 12th Street Parking Deck will permanently close on May 4. Patients and visitors who formerly parked in this deck will move to D Deck located at 515 N. 13th Street, Richmond, VA 23219. Parking in D Deck will be free for patients and visitors 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Valet services will continue to be offered at the following locations: Gateway Building, Ambulatory Care Center (ACC), Adult Outpatient Pavilion and North Hospital. Valet will also be available at the Children’s Pavilion and Tower for pediatric patients and their families/visitors only.

Self-parking for patients at the Adult Outpatient Pavilion will not change.
