Learn moreInna Tchoukina, M.D. joined VCU Pauley Heart Center in 2014 as an Assistant Professor of Internal Medicine, specializing in Advanced Heart Failure and Cardiovascular Disease. Originally from Russia, she earned her medical degree with Honors from the Ural State Medical Academy in 1996. She pursued additional training in the U.S., and completed residency in Internal Medicine and Fellowship in Cardiovascular Disease at State University of New York in Syracuse, N.Y. Following that, she practiced clinical cardiology, providing wide spectrum of cardiovascular services to the people of Southern Virginia.
With over seven years of clinical experience, Dr. Tchoukina followed her passion and pursued further Fellowship training in the specialty of Advanced Heart Failure and Transplantation at Virginia Commonwealth University.
As a Heart Failure Cardiologist, Dr. Tchoukina is interested in caring for the patients in advanced stages of heart disease, patients requiring mechanical circulatory support such as left ventricular assist device or total artificial heart, and patients with heart transplants, both in inpatient and outpatient settings. She performs hemodynamic heart catheterizations and heart biopsies.
Dr. Tchoukina enjoys sharing her knowledge and experience with students, residents and fellows, and is involved in clinical investigations of heart failure management and mechanical circulatory support devices. She is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology and a member of the International Society for Heart and Lung Transplantation. Fluent in both English and Russian, she is board certified in Advanced Heart Failure and Transplant, Cardiovascular Disease, and Internal Medicine.
