Hello applicants! My name is Erica Peak and I'm on the 4th year Med-Peds residents and Chief Residents for Med-Peds. Very excited that you are looking at VCU to complete your Pediatrics training! I went to medical school here at VCU and remember thinking that the residents were always so well prepared and smart and I knew I wanted to be like them! When I interviewed, all of the residents had a family-like atmosphere amongst them and everyone talked about the culture of being supportive and welcoming, which came across as very genuine on my interview day. I've lived in Richmond for 12 years now, after going to University of Richmond for undergraduate and then VCU for medical school/residency. My husband is born and raised here and we hope to remain in Richmond long-term. It's such a close drive to DC, VA Beach, Charlottesville wineries, Outer Banks, in addition to all of the wonderful activities and restaurants in Richmond itself. It is a wonderful place to live. I am currently applying to ID fellowship and have felt very prepared for fellowship training after residency here at VCU. Feel free to reach out with any further questions you may have!
