Email: mbrady@chfrichmond.org

Matt serves as Children’s Hospital Foundation’s Vice President for Development and Communications and, in that role, is responsible for managing the Foundation’s publications and other printed materials, website, media relations, and general promotional activities, and assists with estate giving activities. He originally joined the Foundation in 2008 as the Website Content Coordinator, coming from a background in health care marketing and public relations.

As a child, Matt spent his early years in Florida and Virginia before his family moved out west to Salt Lake City, UT. After he somehow managed to spend 8 years in Salt Lake City without ever going skiing, he moved back east to attend Hampden-Sydney College, where he graduated as the valedictorian of the Class of 2005 with Bachelor of Science degrees in English and Biology.

The best part of Matt's workday is having the opportunity to meet some of the children and families who have been helped by the hospital. He enjoys working with those families who want to share their stories with others in Children's Hospital Foundation publications. In that work, Matt has observed time and time again the incredible ability of children to overcome nearly any adversity.

Matt lives in Chesterfield County with his wife, Jenny, who teaches math at Meadowbrook High School, their son, Connor, and two cats, Sydney and Zoey. He enjoys spending time with family and friends and currently finds the most happiness in watching his three-year-old son discover the joys of childhood—when reading great children's books together, watching much-loved animated movies like Beauty and the Beast and Frozen, and generally marveling at the amazing things all around us, like big yellow school buses, funny squirrels in the backyard, and the moon in the sky.
