Discovery Campaign

Children's Hospital of Richmond at VCU is discovering the best care for kids.

Discovering the best care for Keymonte.

We're stronger than ever. Just like Keymonte.

Thanks to the continued dedication of our physicians, nurses and entire staff, U.S. News and World Report? has once again named Children's Hospital of Richmond at VCU among the best children's hospitals for nephrology. This means patients like Keymonte and his family can count on the best care for kids.

Discovering the best care for Keith and Evelyn

While Keith and Evelyn were discovering their favorite way to play in the dirt...

Dr. Rhodes was discovering ways to make sure a rare craniofacial condition never keeps them from being kids.

The only thing more curious than a kid is two of them. At Children's Hospital of Richmond at VCU, the same goes for our doctors. When siblings Keith and Evenly were both born with a rare skull condition that affects the shape and growth of the head, Dr. Jennifer Rhodes and her team performed successful craniofacial surgery to help put their development and growth on track.

Discovering the best care for Campbell

While Campbell was discovering what she wants to be when she grows up...

Nurse Kathy was discovering ways to make sure leukemia never keeps her from being a kid.

We all know kids are curious little creatures. At Children's Hospital of Richmond at VCU, so are our nurses. It's that curiosity that led nurse Kathy to discover the most compassionate and innovative ways to treat Campbell's leukemia. And it's seeing her desire to provide TLC to others just like her favorite nurse, that keeps our entire team devoted to discovering the best care for kids.

Discovering the best care for Orion

While Orion was discovering his love of the fast ball...

Dr. Dillard was discovering ways to make sure a severe concussion never kept him from being a kid.

Even big kids are curious. At Children's Hospital of Richmond at VCU, so are our doctors. It's that curiosity that led
Dr. Chad Dillard and his team to develop a comprehensive concussion clinic — and for VCU to receive a $62 million federal grant to oversee a national research study on brain injury and concussion. Orion suffered a concussion
during football practice, but by following a plan of physical therapy, cognitive rest and regular clinic visits, he was back in game-shape in time for baseball tryouts. One more way we're discovering the best care for kids.

Discovering the best care for Addy

While Addy was discovering her love for architecture.....

Dr. Schmidt was discovering ways to make sure cystic fibrosis never keeps her from being a kid.

It's a fact. Kids are curious little creatures. At Children's Hospital of Richmond at VCU, so are our doctors. It's that curiosity that led Dr. Schmidt and his team to discover a new therapy to treat Addy's cystic fibrosis. And it's seeing her playing, laughing and building princess forts that keep our entire staff dedicated to discovering the best care for kids.

Discovering the best care for Kallih

While Kallih was discovering her need to rock...

Dr. Penn was discovering ways to make sure diabetes never keeps her from being a kid.

There's no denying, kids are curious little creatures. At Children's Hospital of Richmond at VCU, so are our doctors. It's that curiosity that helps Dr. Melinda Penn and her team discover new ways to treat Kallih's diabetes.
